The Pegasus Foundation has joined with Cold Noses Foundation and animal rescue organization Pet’s Broward to form the Everglades Animals Coalition whose purpose is to rescue animals from the Everglades and Redlands area of Miami.

The Transport-For-Adoption Project provides local shelters and rescues financial support and use of a van to transport animals in Florida from full- and over-capacity facilities and (in some instances) high-kill situations to shelters and rescues located in northern states where animals are more likely to be adopted.

In just one year, hundreds of dogs and cats have successfully and safely journeyed from the Everglades region to vetted and reputable rescue organizations in Chicago, Virginia, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. These once-abandoned animals have been given a second chance with loving families and forever homes.
