2015 Pegasus Wings Awards Honoring Jane Goodall

On April 1st, 2015, Pegasus Foundation held its second annual Wings Awards Event at the estate of Elaine Adams Harrison in Fort Peirce. This years award ceremony honored the Lifetime Achievement of Dr. Jane Goodall.

Dr. Goodall spent the early afternoon meeting with a special group of local heroes, our young animal and environmental activists of the Treasure Coast.  This special group of youngsters included The Riverkidz of the Rivers Coalition and Brandon Wood, who at the age of nine raised funds to rescue the father of chimpanzee, Elway. Both Elway and Boy, Elway’s father, now reside happily at  Save the Chimps in Fort Peirce FL.

2015 award recipients also included Jackie Williams of MCTV, for her media outreach for local animal welfare through her program Pets on Parade, KC Ingram Traylor,for her efforts to derail All Aboard Florida, Virginia P. Sherlock, Esq., for her outstanding legal career dedicated to the protection, preservation and enjoyment of habitat and species found throughout Florida, and Congressman Patrick Murphy, for his national legislative efforts to conserve the Indian River Lagoon and St. Lucie River.
